Justin4All Monthly Q&A: The Cuba Crisis

Announcing the next in our Justin for All Speaker Series on Tuesday, August 17th at 7:30pm EST! Please join Justin for a discussion on peace and solidarity in support of the Cuban people, their sovereignty, and their right to determine their own future. Our Zoom Q & A session will feature guest speaker Henry Lowendorf (Chair of the Greater New Haven Peace Council).

Henry has been a peace activist since the 1960s, and is a member of the executive board of the US Peace Council. He has coordinated numerous efforts to pass New Haven city council resolutions, moving money from the war machine to the human needs of our communities. He participated in the Commission on Connecticut’s Future aimed to examine conversion of CT’s war industry to peace-time manufacturing. Among many other international activities, he led a fact-finding delegation to Syria in 2016 and has traveled to Cuba on numerous occasions to participate in seminars on closing US foreign military bases.

Henry has a Ph.D. in Biology from Case Western Reserve University, and served as Associate Director of Yale University’s Office of Cooperative Research. He retired in 2007 to focus on promoting peace and justice.

It’s long overdue for the U.S. to stop “meddling in,” interfering and blocking the Cuban people’s ability to build their own society as they choose and to respect Cuba’s sovereignty.

We hope to see you for this robust discussion on human rights and peace for our neighbors to the south.
